Memory Washer – Utility to Speed Up Your Computer
Review by on
The simple fact of the matter is that when you run out of memory, your computer will act sluggish. It started out the day like a nimble cheetah, but as memory ran out, it turned into a sluggish sloth. The application that took seconds to launch, now takes forever to start up. So what do you do to fix it? To my mind there are two paths you could follow.

You could for example go get more RAM memory. Just order some online, or go to your favorite computer shop and buy some. Or you could turn to software and see if there is an application out there that can lend a helping hand. There is just such an application out there – the Giant Matrix-developed Memory Washer.

Here is the sort of functionality you can expect to get from Memory Washer:
- Increase your computer's memory virtually by almost 95%.
- Recover memory leaks, stop suspicious processes slowing down your computer.
- Control the Windows startup list and decide which applications you want to be loaded at startup.
- Automatically wash your system’s memory based on pre-configured schedules and triggers.

Memory Washer comes with a simple user interface that is quite simple to use. Not even the greenest of computer users will encounter any significant issues using the application. Should he run into a problem, the Help offers plenty of guidance.

Before you rush off to get Memory Washer and put it to the test, there are some technical details you may want to know about. Check them out below:

Download – the download weighs in at little over 2MB. At such a lightweight download size, it should take very little time to get Memory Washer off the web and onto your computer; even if you are on a less than spectacular internet connection.

Installation – to install Memory Washer on your Windows-powered PC you need only follow the steps presented by the setup wizard. During the installation process you get to choose if you want a Memory Washer shortcut on your desktop, but you cannot choose the directory where Memory Washer will be installed.
At the time of writing this and according to the developer, Memory Washer provides support for these Windows versions: Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

Limitations – you can use Memory Washer free of charge for a trial period of 15 days. Once that period is over, you will have to get a license to keep using Memory Washer. Please note that if you buy a license within the first 3 days of the trial period, you get a $5 discount.

Pros
  • Easy to use
  • Manually or automatically wash your system’s memory
  • Control which applications are loaded at startup
  • Works with Windows 7
  • Lightweight download
  • Discount if you get a license within the first 3 days

Cons
  • Cannot choose the directory where Memory Washer will be installed
  • Automatically opens this webpage once the installation process completes.
